North Babylon schools open for the 2013-14 school year on Tuesday.
Students won't be pressed too hard their first week back, though. School will be in session on Tuesday and Wednesday and then closed on Thursday and Friday for Rosh Hashanah.
A majority of Long Island school districts, including Deer Park, will hold their first day of class next Monday, Sept. 9.
