NORTH BABYLON, NY — North Babylon High School has earned bronze recognition on the 2025 Advanced Placement School Honor Roll by the College Board, a national distinction that highlights schools expanding access to rigorous, college-level coursework while supporting strong student outcomes.

“We are incredibly honored to receive this award,” North Babylon High School Principal Dr. Jonathan Klomp said. “This recognition is a direct testament to the hard work and dedication of our students, teachers, and staff who are committed to academic excellence and preparing students for future success in college and beyond.”

According to the district, North Babylon High School met all criteria for the bronze tier, placing it among a select group of schools recognized for fostering a strong college-going culture.

The recognition is based on three key metrics for the Class of 2025:

College Culture: Forty-five percent of the graduating cohort took at least one AP exam during high school, exceeding the bronze benchmark of 40 percent.

College Credit: Thirty-three percent of students scored a 3 or higher on at least one AP exam, surpassing the bronze requirement of 25 percent.

College Optimization: Thirteen percent of students took five or more AP exams throughout their high school careers, with at least one exam completed in ninth or 10th grade. The bronze benchmark for this category is 2 percent.
