Dozens Of LI High Schools Received 2025 AP Honor Roll Recognition, Gold, Platinum Titles

LONG ISLAND, NY — Dozens of schools on Long Island have received 2025 AP Honor Roll recognition from The College Board.

Schools could receive bronze, silver, gold, or platinum recognition. More than 20 Long Island schools received a platinum-level title, which can be found here. Only eight percent of all eligible schools, including those in the U.S. and Canada, received the platinum recognition.

Some of the Long Island schools that earned the platinum title were Cold Spring Harbor Junior-Senior High School, Chaminade High School, Garden City High School, Great Neck South High School, John L Miller-Great Neck North High School, Jericho Senior High School, Manhasset High School, Mineola High School, Plainview-Old Bethpage John F. Kennedy High School, Syosset High School, and more.

Some of the Long Island schools that earned the gold title were Bethpage High School, Mattituck High School, Oyster Bay High School, New Hyde Park Memorial High School, and more.

In order to receive the recognition, the school must have research-based relationships between AP and college outcomes, including College Culture, College Credit, and College Optimization, according to The College Board.

According to The College Board, College Culture means that 40 percent or more of the graduating class took at least 1 AP Exam during their high school experience. The College Credit refers to 25 percent or more of the graduating class scoring a three or higher on at least one AP Exam during their high school experience. Lastly, College Optimization means that two percent or more of the graduating class took five or more AP Exams during their high school experience. At least one of those exams had to be taken in the ninth or tenth grade, rather than taking all of the AP Exams in one year.
