North Babylon High School student-musician Kevin White has been chosen to participate in the highly selective SCMEA All-County Instrumental Jazz Ensemble. Hundreds of students from schools across Suffolk County auditioned for these ensembles, but only a few of the most talented students were selected to perform. Kevin was the only student in Suffolk County chosen to play bass in the ensemble, which will perform on Feb. 8 at Sayville High School. In addition to the All-County Instrumental Jazz Ensemble, Kevin has also been selected to perform bass in the Long Island String Festival Association's secondary concert. Student-musicians Jewel Brown (violin, secondary festival), Brendan Didier (bass, elementary festival) and Caroline Pombonyo (cello, secondary festival) were also selected to perform in the LISFA concerts.
