North Babylon High's Kevin White Selected to SCMEA Jazz Ensemble
White is only student in Suffolk County chosen to play bass in the ensemble.

North Babylon High School student-musician Kevin White has been chosen to participate in the highly selective SCMEA All-County Instrumental Jazz Ensemble.
Hundreds of students from schools across Suffolk County auditioned for these ensembles, but only a few of the most talented students were selected to perform. Kevin was the only student in Suffolk County chosen to play bass in the ensemble, which will perform on Feb. 8 at Sayville High School.
In addition to the All-County Instrumental Jazz Ensemble, Kevin has also been selected to perform bass in the Long Island String Festival Association’s secondary concert. Student-musicians Jewel Brown (violin, secondary festival), Brendan Didier (bass, elementary festival) and Caroline Pombonyo (cello, secondary festival) were also selected to perform in the LISFA concerts. The elementary festival will be held on Jan. 29 and the secondary festival on Feb. 2, both at Ward Melville High School.
