North Babylon School Budget Passes
The votes are in. The absentee ballots were counted and the community approved the 2020-2021 school budget.
NORTH BABYLON, NY — Residents within the North Babylon School District boundaries voted to approve the 2020-21 school budget by a margin of 2,653 votes to 1,380.
Residents voted on the district's proposed $123,455,814 spending plan for the school year, a 1.62 percent increase from the current budget. To fund the increase, the district proposed a tax levy of $67,854,328 up 2.40 percent from the current year's.
This year, constituents voted by absentee ballot due to the coronavirus.

In addition, three school board trustees were elected. Jeffrey Myers, Geri-Ann McNamee and Theresa Callahan Caroleo beat out Robert Scheid and John Schneidawin, Jr. for the seats. Myers received 2,443 votes, McNamee received 1,975 votes, Caroleo received 1,846 votes, Scheid received 1,745 votes and Schneidawin, Jr. received 1,455 votes.
