North Babylon Schools Welcome Kimberly Skillen as New Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction
Skillen comes to the district with nearly 20 years of experience in education.

The North Babylon School District has welcomed new Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction Kimberly Skillen to its esteemed team of administrators beginning in the 2016-17 school year.
Skillen comes to the district with nearly 20 years of experience in education, most recently serving as an administrator overseeing secondary curriculum and instruction in the Deer Park School District since 2010. Prior to that, she served as the associate principal of curriculum and instruction at Deer Park High School, and worked in the Baldwin School District prior to that — first as a social studies teacher and then as social studies supervisor.
Skillen holds a bachelor’s degree in history from SUNY Oswego, a master’s degree in education from LIU Post, and a professional diploma in school district administration from SUNY Stony Brook. At SUNY Oswego, Skillen also minored in museum studies; at LIU Post, she earned state certification for grade 7-12 social studies; and at SUNY Stony Brook, she earned school district administration certification.

In the past, Skillen has been named a recipient of the SCOPE Community Service award, the Town of Babylon Women’s History Month Community Service award, and the Vision Long Island Smart Growth award.
The district said it was proud to add an administrator of Skillen’s caliber to its team, and wishes her continued success in her new home.
