North Babylon Students Honor Veterans With March

Students and staff honored its local veterans during the school's third annual Veterans Day March.

NORTH BABYLON, NY - The William E. DeLuca Jr. Elementary School of the North Babylon School District was filled with patriotic spirit on Nov. 9, as students and staff honored its local veterans during the school’s third annual Veterans Day March.

For the event, students lined up in the hallways and waved American flags as veterans walked two laps around the building.

Following the march, third-, fourth- and fifth-grade students joined the veterans in the school’s all-purpose room.

There, the Robert Moses Middle School’s marching band honored veterans with a performance.

DeLuca also presented a video that paid homage to the efforts and sacrifices veterans have made for the country.

“One thing we can all agree on is that the men and women who have put their lives on the line for our freedom should always be cherished, praised and acknowledged for their sacrifices,” DeLuca Principal Vincent Fantauzzi said. “Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for doing the incredible and truly being the superheroes that our kids need to look up to.”
