Police: Man Arrested Soon After Robbing North Babylon TD Bank
Man accused of robbing the bank is the same man charged in a bank robbery spree last year.

A Kings Park man was arrested shortly after robbing the North Babylon TD Bank on Sunday afternoon, police said.
According to police, Brian Blackford, 41, entered the bank located at 1361 Deer Park Avenue at about 1:15 p.m., approached a teller and presented a note demanding cash.
The teller complied with the demand and Blackford fled the bank in a taxi.

A notification was broadcast describing the cab and First Precinct police officers located the cab on Weeks Road in North Babylon and Blackford was arrested, police said.
Blackford is charged with one count of third degree robbery. He will be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on Monday.

Blackford is the same man who was arrested last June and charged with robbing seven Suffolk County banks over a two-week period. He had been free on bail while awaiting trial on those charges.
