North Babylon Troop 399's Camp Yawgoog Summer of 2015

North Babylon Scout Troop 399 Carries on Summer Camp Tradition

North Babylon’s Boy Scout Troop 399 began a tradition back in July of 1977 that still lasts today; summer camp at Yawgoog!  The Troop attended Camp Yawgoog which is located in Rockville, Rhode Island the week of July 12th through July 19th.

For Yawgoog’s 100th season, fourteen boys and six adults attended camp, the scouts earned 47 merit badges, two scouts advanced in rank, the troop earned honor troop, took 2nd place in troop tournament, 1st place in the bake-off contest, 2nd place in campsite decoration/ninja theme and were a strong contender for Elmo’s Troop of the Week.

Boy Scout Troop 399 meetings are held each Thursday evening that schools are open at 7:30 pm in the Marion G. Vedder Elementary School cafeteria.  For more information you may visit Troop 399’s website at http://northbabylon399.mytroop.us/.  Troop 399 is a Boy Scout Troop based in North Babylon, NY.  Troop 399 is a member of the Sagtikos District of BSA’s Suffolk County Council.  It is sponsored by the North Babylon Lions Club.  Originally chartered in 1975, Troop 399 has been serving the community, turning boys into leaders and giving families the opportunity to participate in Scouting for 40 years
