• Deer Park High School Honors 12 Local 9/11 Victims With Wreaths (patch.com) — Deer Park neighbors saw their high school community come together to honor the 12 local residents who died in the Sept. 11 attacks, marking the 25th anniversary with wreaths on the front lawn. Students then learned about hero Welles Crowther and took part in a symbolic stair-climb, reflecting on courage, sacrifice, and the legacy of those lost from Deer Park.
   

• Long Island Public Arts Festival Expands Across Suffolk County with Landmark Exhibitions in Deer Park and Huntington (longisland.com) — A major free public art festival is coming to Geiger Park in Deer Park this fall, bringing large-scale outdoor installations from 21 regional artists along the park's pathways. Running September 1 through October 4, the exhibit will feature striking "prism" displays and a soon-to-be-announced ribbon-cutting with Town of Babylon officials, before the festival continues on to Huntington.
