Police Seek West Islip Wallet Thief

The woman removed a wallet from another woman's purse at a store last week, police say.

Police are seeking the public’s help to identify and locate a woman who attempted to steal another woman’s wallet from a West Islip store earlier this month.

According to police, the woman pictured above entered Best Yet Market, located at 9 Udall Road, at 8:50 a.m. on Sept. 16 and removed a pink wallet from another woman’s purse.

The wallet’s owner was able to recover her wallet from the thief, who then fled, police said.
