Practicing Peace and Kindness
Saints Cyril and Methodius School students continued their Catholic Schools Week celebrations focusing on peace and kindness in their lives.
Giving some serious thought to the Catholic Schools Week themes of peace and kindness, fifth graders at Saints Cyril and Methodius in Deer Park have partaken in a spiritual journey. The students recited a poem for the school about keeping peace in their lives, then read several stories about how kindness spreads love and wrote essays on how each of them spreads kindness in their own worlds by their good deeds and service to the school and surrounding community. At an age where kindness is sometimes hard to come by and in a world in which it is so infrequently covered and so often overlooked, it is key for these tweens to be bringing such messages home to their daily lives and openly discussing the beauty and importance of simple acts of kindness.
