Science + Shakespeare + Service = Scholarships!
Saints Cyril and Methodius (SSCM) graduating Eighth Grader, Matteo Masotti was all smiles on graduation day and enjoyed a day of relaxation with friends and family after earning a bevy of well-deserved honors and awards.
An active hockey-player and scholar alike, Matteo is proof that being well-rounded in both academics and athletics is not only possible, but profitable. The young Mr. Masotti had the honor of accepting a Pope John Paul Scholarship for his activity in Community Service and his keen writing skills. In addition, he'd earned a Senior Citizens Scholarship and a Parent Association Scholarship, both based on his extra-curricular involvement and service to the school, the church, and the surrounding community.
Matteo will be attending St. John the Baptist in West Islip this Fall. With a Science Achievement Award, a Shakespeare Ensemble Award, and an Award from the Distinguished Scholars Program under his belt, Matteo's future is looking bright indeed.
SSCM is a Catholic elementary school located in Deer Park, NY (www.sscmweb.org).
