Sears Closes for Good on Sunday

The store in North Babylon will close for good on Sunday.

The company in February told staff members it was in Lindenhurst and North Babylon. Soon after, it placed signs at the store and on main roads, touting deep discounts on existing merchandise.

The chain is also shutting down its Lindenhurst location. Sears still has stores in Patchogue, Port Jefferson and Lake Ronkonkoma.

The shopping mall that includes Sears also has a  Pizzeria location and  Italian specialty store. There is also a deli,

As for home improvement chains - there is no shortage of them in the North Babylon-Deer Park area. Home Depot has a location on Commack Road, while chief rival Lowe's has a spot on Sunrise Highway in Bay Shore.
