Seniors Plan for College in North Babylon

College planning evening held at North Babylon High

Shortly after the start of the 2014-15 school year, the Guidance Department at North Babylon High School organized and hosted a college planning evening for seniors and their parents.

The Class of 2015 was invited to an informative presentation about the importance of planning for their future college opportunities. Guidance Counselors spoke to students about the importance of several aspects of senior year, including meeting college application deadlines and the process of applying early to in- and out-of-state schools. They also reminded students how important it is to stay focused on academics and to stay involved in activities during their last year in high school. Parents also received important financial aid information.

The counselors, along with Principal Jonathan Klomp, gave the students and parents an opportunity to ask questions at the conclusion of the program, and also stayed after to personally address concerns.

“We encourage any and all questions about the next exciting academic chapter in our students’ lives,” Klomp said. “We want to do everything in our power to make sure they’re prepared, and to make parents feel as comfortable as they possibly can.”
