Six Adults, Three Children Injured In Southern State Crash

NORTH BABYLON, NY - A total of 9 people, including 3 children, were hospitalized after a crash in North Babylon on Sunday afternoon.

The North Babylon Fire Company responded to the crash on the westbound Southern State Parkway at exit 39 at about 12:55 p.m.

In addition, three North Babylon ambulances and a mutual aid ambulance from West Islip responded.

Firefighters extracted one person from one of the cars using numerous Hurst tools in operation within 20 minutes.

All of the injured people were transported to Good Samaritan Hospital in West Islip and Southside Hospital in Bay Shore with non-life-threatening injuries.

The Southern State remained closed while it was investigated and cleaned up.
