Troop 399 Hosts NY State Civilian Preparedness Training

On Thursday May 25, 2017, BSA Troop 399, North Babylon along with the State of New York, Suffolk County, and the Town of Babylon hosted a NY State Civilian Preparedness Training Program at Marion G. Vedder Elementary School to provide community members with the tools and resources to prepare for emergencies and disasters, respond to emergencies and disasters, and recover as quickly as possible. The event was attended by over 130 community members who all received New York State Citizen Preparedness Corps Response Kits that contain key items to assist individuals in the immediate aftermath of a disaster and a wealth of information from local and state officials.

Boy Scout Troop 399 meetings are held each Thursday evening that schools are open at 7:30pm in the Marion G. Vedder Elementary School cafeteria. Troop 399 is a Boy Scout Troop based in North Babylon, NY and a member of the Sagtikos District of BSA’s Suffolk County Council. It is sponsored by the North Babylon Lions Club. Originally chartered in 1975, Troop 399 has been serving the community, turning boys into leaders and giving families the opportunity to participate in Scouting for 40 years.
