Woman Pleads Guilty To Killing Ex's Mother, Trying To Kill Ex-Boyfriend: SCDA
"This was a horrific killing of a defenseless elderly woman and family matriarch who didn't stand a chance to fight..." DA Tierney said.

DEER PARK, NY — A Deer Park woman admitted to killing her ex-boyfriend's elderly mother and trying to kill her ex-boyfriend in 2021, Suffolk County District Attorney Raymond Tierney announced Tuesday.
Shaquela Titley, 31, pleaded guilty to first-degree manslaughter and second-degree attempted murder. Titley, who fatally stabbed Marie Mille, 85, is expected to be sentenced to 30 years in prison followed by five years of post-release supervision, Tierney said. She is due back in court Oct. 5.
"This was a horrific killing of a defenseless elderly woman and family matriarch who didn’t stand
a chance to fight against the rage that this defendant unleashed on her," Tierney stated. "I thank our prosecutors for their work in securing this conviction and seeking justice for the Mille family."

Titley admitted to fatally stabbing Marie Mille in her Deer Park home on Dec. 23, 2021, the DA said. Titley, who had been renting an apartment inside Mille’s home for roughly nine months, was "apparently upset" because Joseph Mille, her ex-boyfriend, was not going to renew Titley's apartment lease, the DA's office said.
Joseph was not home when Titley stabbed Marie but returned later that day to find his mother's body covered in blood, prosecutors said.

Titley then attacked Joseph, stabbing him multiple times, authorities said. Joseph ultimately fought his way out of the house and sought refuge in a neighbor’s home, investigators said. Titley was arrested later that day, officials said.
Titley pleaded guilty on Tuesday. She is being represented by Jonathan Manley.
Michael Bodt, the childhood best friend of Joseph, raised more than $34K on a GoFundMe page titled, "Help Joe with hospital and funeral costs."
Bodt was the one Joseph Mille turned to for help after he and his mother were stabbed.
"He ran to me covered in blood," Bodt told Patch at the time. "He was banging on my door and I knew right away."
Bodt called 911 and said that the police came quickly.
"It's just horrible," said Bodt. "It feels like it feels like a dream or a nightmare, but we actually lived it."
