Women of Distinction-NYS Award/Equality of Earnings
NYS Legislature recognizes women for their personal achievements and accomplishments-Where is Equality of Earnings Law-Implementation aspect

With the Election results reported of the NYS Legislature Senate races in Suffolk County-Women; have loss-a State Senator, Monica Martinez, there will be a new State Senator effective 2021. This is a set back for Women in Suffolk County within the NYS State Legislature.
NYS Legislature recognizes Women of Distinction in multiple categories of life; Monica is a life long Education-Administrator for children of Brentwood and Township of Islip. Senator Martinez deserves your support on the issues you feel are important to you-send her note. March is normally known as Women's History Month, but as Senator Martinez will move forward-it's time to recognize her accomplishments and the path Monica worked towards for the Children of Brentwood.
This year is the Year of the Woman-the 100th Anniversary; but Suffolk County in destructive decision making aspects; such as denying a Woman access to an Election Hearing at State Supreme Court-has set women back in our daily challenges. The right to Equality in our Earnings is fundamental as we are in Suffolk- (Women) are the Head of Households far and wide. Without New York State Implementing administrative processes for Women to receive their rightful earnings for work prior and employment present; then Women, are still climbing a ladder that is outdated in its entirety. This is not a reflection of what women are actually doing in the employment arena or is it a reflection of our sexuality and why it is even a factor when consideration for Implementation of administrative procedures is wrong. The issue is: as a Woman I'm in the Employment Arena but Earning less money for the same level of employment as my Male Counterpart. Inequality in Employment Earnings hold true in Management, but is at its highest percentage within the "general employment opportunities".

As Women Grow within the Employment Fields-often-promotional raises or consolidation of Employment Earnings take impact and women suffer because have Employers pay and paid Women less for more Employment Output-this is a Fact. Just check yourself the statistical support at large-my goal here is to encourage movement of Legislative aspects which are needed. Governor Andrew Cuomo recognized this in 2014; but the women's legislative agenda to correct these matters has not taken effect! New York State as an Employer-has recognized and acknowledged it's own short-comings in paying wages to several of it's female employees but has not provided the retroactive earnings to many of us out of service-and this needs to occur in order to build in the required promotional standards in present day employment. How do we as a State move forward-if the past has not been settled?!
Here's the Legislative remedy or cocktail (just to lighten it slightly up)- The Maltese Equality of Earnings Law seeks that form of justice for Women of New York State. NYS can not implement present day aspects for new Earners in the job market; without rectifying past debts to Women.

Maryann Maltese; a tenured Public Officer of the New York State Legislature (18 years) is one of these Females that has not received her full Earnings for Employment rendered. Maltese's public service with NYS years is from 1994-2013-and New York State must implement retroactive earnings now. There is no question of ethics-what employee waits to receive former earnings for 8 years? No Employee-No Employer gets away with it-except New York State as the Largest At-Will Employer has sat on it. The Maltese Equality of Earnings Law will set the ground work to significantly change the way in which NYS treats female employees. Do you need another catalyst to view to see how further negative employment contracts languages were just enacted in NYS-just review Township of Huntington's Resolution 222-of 2020-to learn that Huntington implemented new rules and regulations "reducing-employee generic benefits-no health care, no sick days provided to former State Employees". That is despicable and for Women; it means-we are the Class-that accepts low-ball employment contracts-is Huntington pitching for women as employees? Ask them.
This employment practice in Suffolk County needs to end as we are the Voting Block in the County and deserve Employment Contracts that meet our Expertise and level of employment provided.
It is without question; that I, Maryann Maltese, performed my employment duty while in state service impeccable. This isn't a question-my employment at the district level and within Albany is outstanding. We understand in the Legislative Election Industries that percentages of voter approval means everything. I hold Rank still today for Election wins in districts that "vote their conscious-swing districts" with 72-76% percent approval-so where is my outstanding wages? Members I managed did not Lose-they moved on in service. I'm NOW (New or in this case Re-Newed Opportunities for Women) reminding my former Employer openly to make good on the acknowledgment of their wrong doing-and provide me earnings due and within that-Implementation of Measures required for Women in the Employment arena is going to be the standard-not just a figment in our imaginations.
Distinction Awards for Women's contributions is a worthy acknowledgement and the women selected within districts should understand they have contributed to the Women's Agenda-join me in encouraging the NYS Legislature to head back into Special Legislative Session (virtually) to enact the Maltese Equality of Earnings Law which will require not only retroactive earnings; but to close the GAP so that Women's Employment Contracts provide equality of earnings and procedural aspects that New York State must follow. Why again?-do we need more reason than looking around us in 1mile radius to see just how many businesses have closed their doors or zombie homes vacated in our communities! Women can not afford to wait.
This is what is dire for Women in New York State; that NYS in present day-does not have Implementation of Procedures for those Women in the Employment Sectors. Let's not be the 48 or 49 state once again (No-Fault Divorce Laws)-to finalize implementation processes of fair employment contracts for women.
Please reach out to your New York State Legislators every day; send an email with your name and address included so that NYS get's the message-Women will no longer wait for Due Process and Implementation of Equality of Earnings Procedures in New York State.
