Would You Take a Bus Instead of a Car on Long Island?
Suffolk County Executive proposes public transportation along Sagtikos Parkway boost business in Deer Park and North Babylon.

Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone last week laid out several economic development plans meant to spur business in Suffolk County, including the potential for a bus line along the Sagtikos Parkway to connect Long Islanders to the Deer Park Train Station and downtown area.
Part of the plan includes that would quickly shuttle commuters from the North Shore communities to the South Shore.
Bellone said that the North-South transit connections provide untapped potential to drive economic growth in Suffolk County. The current study underway analyzing Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) along the Route 110 corridor.

He said that in the future, bus lanes on the Sagtikos Parkway could provide a connection to the Deer Park Train Station, the Heartland Development, King Park Train Station and existing downtowns.
