Wyandanch Man Stole Packages From 8 Homes: SCPD

The 33-year-old was arrested on Saturday in connection to several incidents of stolen packages since August, police said.

TOWN OF ISLIP, NY - A Wyandanch man was charged on Saturday with stealing multiple packages off of residences porches in Suffolk County since August, according to Suffolk Police.

Since August 29, Nicholas Robinson, 33, has stolen multiple packages from at least eight homes within the Town of Islip, police said.

On Saturday, Third Precinct Officer Alejandro Marin responded to a larceny on Commack Road in Brentwood where he saw a man driving a Toyota Rav 4, which fit the description of the suspect and his vehicle that committed another larceny on Friday, police said.

Marin initiated a traffic stop on 2nd Avenue near Brentwood Road at 8:40 a.m. and arrested Robinson, police said.

According to police, Robinson was charged with eight counts of petty larceny in connection to the following incidents:

  • Aug. 29: two packages were stolen off the front porch of a residence on Roosevelt Avenue in Islip
  • Sept. 28: two packages stolen off the front porch of a residence on Union Boulevard in Islip
  • Oct. 8: a package was stolen off the front porch of a residence on Adams Street East in East Islip
  • Oct. 12: a package was stolen off the front porch of a residence on Cornell Street in Islip
  • Oct. 15: a package was stolen off the front porch of a residence on Redmond Avenue in Bay Shore
  • Oct. 31: a package was stolen off the front porch of a residence on 1st Avenue in Bayport
  • Oct. 31: a package was stolen from a different residence on 1st Avenue, Bayport
  • Nov. 2: a package was stolen from a residence on Commack Road, Bay Shore
