“On behalf of the Wyandanch School District and community, I would like to express our appreciation to Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone, Legislator Jason Richberg, the Suffolk County Legislators, Western Suffolk BOCES Chief Operating Officer Michael Flynn, and Laurie Farber of Earth Rangers of Wyandanch for all of their efforts on our behalf,” said Wyandanch School District Superintendent of Schools Dr. Gina Talbert. “Your efforts will allow us to continue to improve our schools and provide a safe and healthy environment for our students and staff.”
The passage of this legislation will have a significant impact on the Wyandanch Union Free School District and its efforts to discontinue use of its failing cesspools. The school district is planning to connect the LaFrancis Hardiman/Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Elementary School, the district’s administration building and bus depot to the Southwest Sewer District.

Wyandanch School District Board of Education President James Crawford also expressed the appreciation of the board of education. “The Wyandanch Union Free School District is grateful for Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone and the Suffolk County Legislature’s actions to waive the sewer connection fee,” said Mr. Crawford. “We are grateful for the efforts of Legislator Jason Richberg to champion this endeavor on our behalf.
