Amid the tide of good Cortelyou food news, this is a sour note: Cinco de Mayo's gates were down today, with a sign outside asking visitors to "join us" at Cinco de Mayo II, a less cozy spot over on Coney Island Avenue and Beverley.
Anybody know the story?
UPDATE: Readers say it's a Health Department issue. Worth noting that though the place doesn't gleam, it did quite well on its last inspection, last fall.
