Fireman Charged With DUI After Fellow Bravest's Funeral: Cops
Matthew Wilson was charged with driving while intoxicated after the funeral for Brooklyn Firefighter Steven Pollard, police said.

BROOKLYN, NEW YORK -- An FDNY firefighter returning from fallen fireman Steven Pollard's funeral was arrested for driving under the influence, according to police and reports.
Firefighter Matthew Wilson, 36, was charged with driving while intoxicated and refusing to take a breath test in the 63rd Precinct Friday afternoon, police said.
Wilson, a Uniformed Firefighters Association representative, was leaving Pollard's funeral when his 2017 Ford Explorer jumped the curb near Marine Parkway and Quentin Road and hit a 31-year-old at about 4:45 p.m. Friday, the Daily News reported.

Wilson was one of thousands to attend the funeral for Pollard, who died last Sunday when he fell through a gap in the Belt Parkway trying to rescue two victims of a car crash.
The firefighter was arraigned in Brooklyn Criminal Court on Saturday and released on his own recognizance, court records show.
