Flatbush Salon Protester Hits Cop With Beer Bottle, Police Say
A man chucked a bottle at a cop's head during a protest outside the Flatbush nail salon where workers attacked two customers, police said.

FLATBUSH, BROOKLYN — A protester chucked a beer bottle at a cop’s head outside the nail salon where workers attacked two customers who refused to pay for a bad wax job, police said.
The NYPD detective was hit as he watched more than 50 protesters rally outside New Red Apple Nails at 1426 Nostrand Ave. at about 2:30 p.m., said police.
The rally was spurred by video of a violent brawl inside the nail salon Friday night, that one customer said broke out when a woman refused to pay for an unsatisfactory eyebrow wax.

“She came in with eyebrows and left without them,” wrote Instagram user @fantabby, who said the victims were her mother, a friend, and her daughter, who refused to pay for a $5 wax then was attacked with sticks and doused with acetone.
“This is what happens when you get your toes done while black.”

Protesters forced the salon to close on Monday, after the video made news across the city, and charged the workers with committing a racially-motivated attack, according to a New York Post report.
The detective was hit by one several bottles thrown by protesters who reportedly chanted, “Black Lives Matter” and “No money! No toes! No nails!”
He was treated for cut in a nearby hospital, said police.
Court records show employee Huiyue Zheng, 32, and customer Christina Thomas, 21, were charged with assault the night the video was posted.
Police released a photograph of the suspect late Tuesday night and asked anyone with information to contact the NYPD.
