VIDEO: Robbers Scale Security Partition In $88K Crime Spree In Brooklyn And Queens
Police are looking for a trio of masked gunman responsible for robbing four check-cashing businesses, police said.
FLATBUSH, BROOKLYN — Police are looking for three masked gunmen responsible for robbing nearly $88,000 from four check-cashing places in Brooklyn and Queens after they were caught on surveillance camera scaling a bullet-proof security counter's partition, police told Patch.
The weeks-long crime spree started Dec. 17, when two men entered CAM-Caribbean Airmail on Flatlands Avenue in Canarsie. One of the men displayed a firearm and demanded cash from the 26 year-old female victim inside, while the other man stayed by the door acting as a look-out, police said. The men stole $4,000 in cash and fled.
The next robbery happened at Caribbean Airmail Inc. on Flatbush Avenue in Flatbush Dec. 23. Two thieves used similar tactics as the above incident and made off with $3,600 in cash, police said.

On Dec. 29, two robbers entered Postal Express Inc. on Glenwood Rd. in Canarsie. One man pointed a gun at the employee's head and demanded money, police said. The men stole $14,600 and fled.
The last incident happened at Joanies Princess Card and Cash Checkers at 148th Street in Jamaica, Queens Jan. 8. Three robbers entered the business and one man displayed a gun, police said. Two men then climbed above the bullet-proof security partition (see video), while the third robber displayed a knife and acted as a look out. The men stole $65,600 in cash and fled, police said.
