Wonderful, loving, cheerful, responsible, seasoned nanny available starting late August or early September
Christine Johnson has been working with our family for three years taking care of our daughter since she was 5 months old and will be available to work with a new, lucky family in late August or early September. We have been so fortunate to call Christine family for the last three years as she has taken care of our daughter, Elise. We’d love for her to continue working with us for years to come, but alas we are moving out of the city and we want to help Christine find a great family to work with. Christine is a seasoned nanny with over 17 years of experience. Here are a few reasons we’ve found her to be fantastic:
She is always cheerful and ready for an adventure. Every morning when Christine arrives at our home she greets everyone with a big smile and says hello to everyone in a cheerful manner (including our family dog!). She and Elise kick of their morning by talking about their plans for the day, making play dates or mapping out an adventure to a museum in the city. She makes sure Elise gets out for exercise and fresh air every day even in the cold winter months. She has made many friends with several nannies in the neighborhood over the years and has helped Elise make great friends as a result. She has been very happy to take our daughter to whatever classes we wanted her to attend, from music to dance to sing alongs at cafes.
Loving and fun. Christine is so lovely with our daughter. They read together, sing, play games and Christine is always up for whatever Elise wants to do for the day--no matter how many times Elise makes her play the the play-doh ice cream machine or read Ferdinand. Over the years friends and neighbors who have seen Christine with Elise around the neighborhood are always telling us how great she is. This is reassuring and wonderful to hear when we are away all day at work. It’s nice to hear that other people see your nanny being awesome.

She is a cheerleader and a teacher: She has helped Elise foster her independence by encouraging her to try age appropriate tasks at each new phase and works with her to successfully achieve each milestone. She always keeps things light and fun so Elise wants to keep trying.
Organized and clean: When we come home each evening, I’m afraid to admit that the house looks better than we left it in the morning. She does light cleaning around the house throughout the day and makes sure all things related to Elise are neat and tidy.

She runs a tight ship: Christine has set firm boundaries and has been consistent about rules with Elise. She makes sure Elise is polite and respectful to others, eats nicely at the table (and eat her vegetables!) and makes sure she sticks to the schedule we’ve set up.
She is a great partner. Christine works with us to make sure she implementing our rules and goals for Elise (i.e. no TV, healthy snacks only, exercise everyday, maintaining a solid nap schedule, lots of reading, etc.). She also keeps us informed about any issues we should be aware of with our daughter.
Health conscious and active: This is something I never considered before we hired Christine, but Christine is very active and healthy and it’s been comforting to know the positive influence this has on our daughter. She loves to walk, dance, run around the park, etc. and keeps a very healthy diet. She brings her lunch every day and never eats junk food, which has been a great influence on Elise’s eating habits.
Our daughter loves her. Mostly importantly, our daughter loves Christine and has so much fun with her. Every night when Christine leaves, Elise gives her a big hug and then runs to the window to wave to her and yell goodnight again. Often on weekends, she will ask if Christine is coming that day!
We’ve loved having Christine as part of our family over the last three years and will be sad to say goodbye to her this summer, but our loss is your opportunity to have a great nanny. Christine is seeking full time work and is available starting in late August.
