• Mahopac man flees court hearing prior to pleading guilty to sex charges (midhudsonnews.com) — State Police recently stopped a vehicle in Dover Plains to detain a Mahopac man who had cut off his monitoring tracker and skipped a federal court hearing. Prosecutors say he was due to plead guilty to serious child pornography charges tied to hidden-camera recordings at a Putnam County park. He is free on bond and scheduled to return to court June 15.
