City Wants Your Input on How to Transform Governors Island

New Yorkers are asked to complete a survey on how the city can better utilize Governors Island all year long.

NEW YORK, NY — Governors Island has been closed to the public for most of its history, but as part of the 2016 State of the City Address, Mayor de Blasio announced the city would transform Governors Island into a year-round destination. Now, the city has launched a new, interactive campaign where New Yorkers can share their vision for "#GovIsland365."

The city is striving to make Governors Island more accessible for New Yorkers, who will soon be able to enjoy the park and island 365 days a year.

Participants are asked to write their ideas on a 3-D chalkboard and complete this survey on how the city can better utilize Governors Island.
