US Air Force Thunderbirds Will Fly Over One World Trade Center Friday

At around 9:45 a.m., the Thunderbirds will fly over the Statue of Liberty and One World Trade.

FINANCIAL DISTRICT, NY — New York City residents are advised to stay calm if they see planes flying right over the Statue of Liberty or One World Trade Friday morning. At around 9:45 a.m. on Sept. 2, the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds will perform a flyover to practice for the New York Air Show at Stewart International Airport this weekend.

If you're in the area and want to witness six red, white and blue F-16 Fighting Falcons hit the city skies, set up a blanket and enjoy the views from Battery Park, Nelson A. Rockefeller Park, South Cove Park or the Robert F. Wagner Jr. Park, Air Show Stuff advises.

The Thunderbirds are the air demonstration unit of the United States Air Force. The group tours much of the world, showcasing its aerobatic formation and solo flying in special aircrafts.
