District leaders say they’re trying to handle unfunded mandates and shifting state aid without heavily burdening Dryden taxpayers already facing higher assessments and inflation.
   

• Freeville Man Charged With DWI After Crash in Dryden: Found More Than Twice Legal Limit (wxhc.com) — A pickup truck crash on Main Street in the Town of Dryden led to DWI charges for a Freeville resident after state police say his blood alcohol content tested at 0.20%. Troopers report he left the scene before being found at home, then was arrested and issued tickets to appear in Dryden Town Court later this month.
   

• Finger Lakes Land Trust Celebrates First Universally Accessible Trail at the Roy H Park Preserve (iloveny.com) — Roy H. Park Preserve in Dryden now offers a newly reopened, universally accessible north entrance with improved trails, boardwalk, and parking for visitors of all abilities. The upgrades connect more easily to Hammond Hill State Forest and support a yearlong Emerald Necklace hiking challenge running throughout 2026 for local outdoor enthusiasts.
