3 Arrested After Chase Ends In Long Island Crash: Police

ISLIP TERRACE, NY — Three men were arrested on drug and weapon charges after leading police on a chase that ended in a crash in Islip Terrace on Monday, according to Suffolk police.

Officers pulled over a 2019 Dodge Charger traveling southbound on Lowell Avenue but when they approached the car, the driver sped off and crashed into a brick monument at the intersection of Lowell Avenue and Connetquot Avenue at 3 p.m., police said.

While pulling the occupants out of the car, officers saw a large quantity of narcotics on the dashboard, police said. The driver, 26-year-old Jasheem Pulley, of North Amityville, and his passengers, 32-year-old Dyron Elliott, of Lindenhurst, and 32-year-old Daquan Clinton, of North Amityville, were transported to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore for treatment of injuries sustained in the crash, police said.

Detectives recovered a loaded, .38-caliber revolver, 7 grams of fentanyl, prescription medication, marijuana, a scale, multiple phones and cash, police said. The Dodge was stolen and had license plates stolen from another car, police said.

According to an article on Stat News, a 3 milligram dose of fentanyl is enough to kill an average-size man. That means the 7 grams police say was found in the car is enough to potentially kill over 2,300 people.

The trio were charged with second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, third-degree criminal possession of stolen property and fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property. Pulley was additionally charged with unlawfully fleeing a police officer and reckless driving.

They are scheduled for arraignment at a later date.
