• Man's Leg Trapped In East Islip Car Wash Roller: Police (patch.com) — Emergency crews in East Islip rushed to Mr. Suds Flex Car Wash Thursday after a man's leg became trapped in the wash roller, requiring specialized extrication tools. East Islip firefighters, Suffolk police, and ambulance personnel worked together to free him, and he was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
   

• Westhampton football's Jake Calloway has hand in five TDs in win over East Islip (newsday.com) — East Islip's previously unbeaten football team took a tough 34–0 home loss to Westhampton Beach, led by standout quarterback Jake Calloway's five touchdowns. The game in Islip Terrace dropped East Islip to 3–1 and echoed a 1954 matchup, when Westhampton also shut out East Islip in the program's first-ever varsity game.
