• East Patchogue Woman Arrested for DWI after Taking Wrong Car (lilifepolitics.com) — An East Patchogue woman was arrested on Waverly Avenue in Patchogue after deputies say she drove another person’s similar-looking SUV while allegedly intoxicated. Investigators later determined she mistakenly took the vehicle from outside a bar, and the owner declined to press theft charges, while officials used the case to stress DWI enforcement and key-fob safety. 
• Dramatic Images Show Chase That Ended In Fatal Stabbing In Medford: Suffolk Prosecutors (patch.com) — A Medford stabbing victim was taken to NYU Langone – Suffolk Hospital in East Patchogue, where he was later pronounced dead, after a daytime attack at a busy Medford intersection. Prosecutors say surveillance and dashcam footage captured the chase and single fatal stab wound, and the accused Coram man now faces a second-degree murder charge and possible life sentence.
• Community rallies behind Mastic Beach family after 2-year-old's pool tragedy, raising $50K (greaterlongisland.com) — A 2-year-old Mastic Beach girl was first rushed to NYU Langone Hospital-Suffolk in East Patchogue after a backyard pool incident, then later died at Stony Brook University Hospital. Neighbors and strangers have rallied around her family, donating over $50,000 through GoFundMe to help with medical and funeral costs as they cope with a second heartbreaking loss.
