Early voting for upcoming election starts Saturday (localsyr.com) — Early voting for the November 3, 2026 election starts today, and East Syracuse residents can cast ballots at DeWitt Town Hall on Butternut Drive as well as several nearby Syracuse-area sites. The schedule offers daytime and evening hours through November 1 across Onondaga and neighboring counties, giving you plenty of options to vote early before Election Day crowds.

U.S. Navy buys another carrier air traffic radar from Saab (defence-blog.com) — Saab’s East Syracuse facility has landed more work as the U.S. Navy exercises a $14.3 million option for another AN/SPN-50 carrier air traffic control radar, with completion expected by June 2028. The project keeps high-tech radar production and federal defense dollars flowing into East Syracuse while the Navy continues phasing out its aging shipboard radar systems.
4. 4 companies across these states land more than $1 billion in Pentagon deals (oregonlive.com) — Defense contractor Saab Inc., based in East Syracuse, secured a $14.3 million Pentagon contract to build a Navy shipboard radar system, adding to more than $1 billion in awards shared by four companies nationwide. While most of the money goes to firms in other states, the deal still means specialized high-tech work and continued federal investment tied directly to East Syracuse.
