#100 - Super Spa Sundays at Gurney's Inn

Finding 100 things to do in East Hampton Town is going to be easy, but we're starting with a relaxing activity at one our oldest family-owned businesses.

Super Spa Sundays at is the perfect treat after a long week and offers the opportunity to avoid your house full of football fans. There's only two more Sundays on this special promotion, which includes upper body massage or Ocean Radiance facial, both which last about 25 minutes, and a manicure and pedicure in the salon overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. The $125 package also include use of the spa facilities and a mimosa at the bar. 

Gurney's Sea Water Spa includes seperate male and female treatment areas with seawater Roman baths, Finish Rock Suanas, Russian Steam Rooms, Swiss Showers, and a saltwater indoor pool.

On arrival for a day at the spa, the pampering begins. You are handed a key and your itinerary, and taken to the private locker rooms, which are clean and pleasantly decorated. Each person is given a luxurious robe, towels, and even some chocolates. The waiting area has comfortable chairs and complimentary lemon-infused water and sweet tea.

The masseurs and therapists are knowledgeable and helpful, and are really looking to make the experience an enjoyable one. Most have been with Gurney's for many years. Robin, the masseuse we met, has been there for 20, and Irma, the aesthetician in the salon, has been there for 12.

The manicure and pedicures last about 35 minutes each. The pedicures are particulary relaxing from the oversized pedicure stations and the elevated view overlooking the empty ocean beach and winter wave action.

Candice Monte, who runs the spa, suggests spacing out the appointments so that spa goers are sure to take advantage of the saunas and Roman baths. Those there for Super Spa Day can also make good use of the exercise room in between dips in the pool. If you time it right, you can also take a class in the fitness room for an extra cost (spin, yoga, and pilates are offered throughout the week).

Afterwards, Gurney's invites spa goers to enjoy complimentary hors d'oeuvres and Happy Hour at the bar. The package also includes a chance in the Super Spa box pool for the Super Bowl. The winner of the pool will enjoy a day of beauty at Sea Water Spa.

Even if you are a football fan, there's enough time before the big game to treat yourself beforehand. All that relaxation might keep you from stressing out too much if your team is on the losing end come Sunday.
