Brooke Shields Set To Headline 6th Annual East Hampton Emergency Department Luncheon

EAST HAMPTON, NY — Brooke Shields will headline the 6th Annual East Hampton Emergency Department Luncheon, the Southampton Foundation said.

The luncheon event, "A Conversation With Brooke Shields," will take place on Thursday, July 9, at the Maidstone Club in East Hampton.

Co-chaired by Jill Davis, Kate Davis, Kristin Douglass, Hollis Forbes, Liz Lange, and Mary Margaret Trousdale, the luncheon will bring together guests "for an engaging and intimate afternoon of conversation, community, and purpose in support of the Stony Brook East Hampton Emergency Department, helping advance access to exceptional emergency care across the East End," organizers said.

"Brooke Shields brings a thoughtful and authentic voice to conversations around aging and wellness," said Lange, who is moderating the conversation. "We’re pleased to welcome her in support of the East Hampton Emergency Department and the important role it plays in our community."

During the event, Shields will reflect on her multifaceted career spanning film, television, publishing, and business, as well as her new book, Brooke Shields Is Not Allowed to Get Old, and her journey into entrepreneurship in her mid-50s.

As the founder of Commence, a haircare brand designed for women over 40, Shields has emerged as a leading voice in redefining how women approach aging, wellness, and confidence at every stage of life, organizers said.

"There’s something incredibly powerful about a community coming together to support one another, and the East Hampton Emergency Department is a wonderful reflection of that spirit," said Shields. "It’s an extraordinary resource for the East End, and I’m proud to support its mission."

Registration for the event begins at 10:30 a.m., with the program following promptly at 11 a.m.

Located at 400 Pantigo Place in East Hampton, the Stony Brook East Hampton Emergency Department opened in May 2025 as an off-campus extension of Stony Brook Southampton Hospital’s emergency department. One of the few freestanding emergency departments in New York State, the 23,000-square-foot facility provides 24/7, year-round emergency care for residents and visitors across the South Fork.

Since opening in May 2025, the EHED has served more than 11,000 patients, underscoring the critical need for emergency care close to home, organizers said.
