• East Hampton Town Supervisor Proposes $118.9 Million Tentative Budget for 2027 • East Hampton Town, NY ' I Love Hamptons (ilovehamptons.com) — East Hampton Town's supervisor has unveiled a $118.9 million tentative 2027 budget that would raise the town tax rate by about 6 to 7 percent, adding roughly $50–$100 a year for a typical home. The plan boosts staffing in the Building Department, funds police, beaches, senior services, housing, and environmental programs, and exceeds New York State's tax levy cap to keep pace with rising costs.
   

• East End battery plants owners reject calls to shut down (newsday.com) — East Hampton Town is preparing legal action to force shutdown and modification of a local battery-energy storage plant after state investigators linked its fire-suppression system to serious groundwater contamination. Plant owners insist operations will continue under existing permits while they work on safely disabling the system, even as local fire officials and Suffolk County press for a full shutdown and extensive soil and water testing.
