The Animal Rescue Fund of the Hamptons, Inc. (ARF) announced that on Saturday, Sept. 27, it conducted its 1,000th pet adoption off its mobile adoption van at the new Petco store in Bridgehampton.
The lucky 1,000th adopters were Christine and Alfonso Paradinas, a young couple who live in New York City and East Hampton. They adopted Molly, a 4-year old Scottie who had recently been rescued from a Missouri Puppy Mill. The Paradinas family was delighted to welcome Molly as a new member of their family. They left the van leading Molly on her new ARF leash and wearing their new ARF baseball caps with high hopes for the future.

A little over two years ago the organization purchased the 26 foot mobile van to allow it to conduct adoptions off site from its 22-acre Adoption Center in Wainscott. The van has traveled to adoption events, fairs, pet supply stores, parades and other gatherings to spread the word about ARF and promote adoptions. Today, approximately 40% of all ARF adoptions are conducted off the mobile van.
