ARF Director Supports Program That Gives Safe Haven For Pets Of Domestic Abuse Victims

In honor of Domestic Violence Awareness month, Animal Rescue Fund of the Hampton’s Executive Director Sara Davison spoke before the Suffolk County Legislature on Tuesday, Oct. 7 in support of the Safe Pet and Families Program.
In cooperation with the Suffolk County SPCA who will coordinate the program, victims of domestic abuse will now have a safe haven for their pets County-wide.
Since 1996 ARF has been providing this service through its PUP (People United with Pets) program for the East End. The program passed unanimously and was sponsored by legislator Jay Schneiderman.
