Navy Beach has announced they are kicking off the season Memorial Day Weekend with live music Sunset Sets and the launch of their new Après Mondays series offering beverage specials all day, every Monday from Memorial Day through Labor Day. 
Make Monday your new Sunday and sip, unwind and soak in the Montauk Magic at Navy Beach with Après Mondays–because the good life doesn’t have to wait for the weekend. Mondays through Labor Day will feature beverage specials from 12 p.m. to close, subject to change, is as follows:

Our Fabulous Variety Show (OFVS) Crew is a wonderful space to build community, learn performing arts techniques and have so much fun! The Toddies Crew is best for students ages 4-5 who have not yet started kindergarten. Crew members get discounts on most OFVS offerings including classes, excursions and shows as well as special exclusive events like our Crew-B-Q and our Crewbilee end-of-the-year celebration! These Crew Sessions include acting, dance, music, and performance training for these budding performers! This class is a great introduction to the performing arts along with fun arts and crafts activities. Students will learn how to work together, use their imaginations and express themselves creatively through play while having tons of fun.

Enjoy Crew Sessions included in your membership on MOST Saturdays during the 2025-2026 school year! Toddies will NOT meet on the following Saturdays: May 9 May 16

Eleanor Whitmore Early Childhood Center (<a href="https://www.ewecc.org" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">www.ewecc.org</a>), will host their annual kick off to summer event “Kites for Kids” on Saturday, May 23rd from 2 to 5 p.m. at Main Beach in East Hampton. All proceeds from the high-flying family-friendly event benefit the Eleanor Whitmore Early Childhood Center. 
The Eleanor Whitmore Early Childhood Center is a licensed, nonprofit childcare center in East Hampton, open year-round and providing all-day care for working families in our community, with fees among the lowest on Long Island. Fundraising is one way we keep our fees affordable and the quality of education high. Come fly a kite to support keeping childcare affordable for all.
Each kite costs $12 presale and may be reserved online at the following link<a href="https://eleanorwhitmoreearlychildhood.betterworld.org/events/kites-kids-2026" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">https://eleanorwhitmoreearlychildhood.betterworld.org/events/kites-kids-2026</a>. Kites will be sold at $15 after May 15 and discounts are available when purchasing multiple kites. Special one-of-a-kind kites decorated by Whitmore Kids are also available for purchase at $50 a kite. Guests can fly their kite in style with new Kites for Kids bucket hats! Available in both kids’ and adults’ sizes, these add-ons can be purchased along with the kites and picked up at the event. 
Participants are encouraged to reserve their kite ahead of time and will be able to deck it out at the event with stickers, ribbons, glitter and markers at the kite decorating station. FREE special parking at Main Beach is available for event guests.

Gayle Feldman, journalist and author of Nothing Random: Bennett Cerf and the Publishing House He built, invites you to dive deep into an epic story that The New York Times, in a rave review, compared to Robert Caro’s The Powerbroker. Her biography takes you inside the world of the founder of Random House, a man who later became a celebrity on What’s My Line? Cerf straddled books, Broadway, Hollywood, TV, and New York City. 
Feldman will converse with award-winning journalist and critic Cathleen McGuigan. The two will explore how Feldman wrote this landmark cultural history, and venture into Cerf’s star-studded life. Following the discussion will be a Q&amp;A with the audience and book signing. 
Nothing Random, twenty-three years in the making, was hailed by The Washington Post as “a work of biographical reclamation [and] a whole lot of fun… in its pages, Feldman depicts a lost world, at times a lost paradise, when New York, Hollywood and the literary life were at their most glamorous and privileged.”
Cerf’s star-studded life stretched from William Faulkner to Dr. Seuss; George Gershwin to Frank Sinatra; Gertrude Stein to Judy Garland; FDR to Henry Kissinger. 
He fought for free expression and helped transform which books could reach readers, and how they would be published and marketed. His legacy lives on every time someone reads Truman Capote, Ralph Ellison, Ayn Rand, Philip Roth, James Joyce’s Ulysses, and so many more.Former Sag Harbor residents Robert Loomis, Jason Epstein, and E.L. Doctorow were interviewed for this book, which was partly written in the John Jermain Library.

ReWild Long Island is accepting applications for its 2026 Summer Environmental Internship in East Hampton, Amagansett, Montauk and Sag Harbor. Open to students in grades 8–12.
Interns grow organic food for local pantries, protect native pollinators, farm oysters, compost, and build real teamwork and leadership skills. They work alongside experienced environmentalists and leave knowing they made a genuine contribution to their community.
