MY MEETING WITH PUTIN   A novel by Lyle Greenfield

 

A fortuitous family connection makes it possible for an ordinary citizen with an extraordinary idea to meet with President Putin. An idea for a peaceful end to the war in Ukraine. Guarded interest on Putin’s part sends the protagonist to Zurich to develop the proposal with a Russian professor of political science. Then to Brussels to present the plan to NATO’s Secretary General, and to Paris for meetings with President Macron and President Zelenskyy. At the same time the FBI is seeking the man who is believed to have had an unauthorized meeting with Putin—a possibility that infuriates President Trump.

The story is told by the protagonist, who places on full display his determination, naïveté, and sense of humor. It poses the greater question: Why, in this age, must countries continue to wage war rather than explore solutions to problems, however complex? Many real persons, events and places form the foundation of this timely novel. When a ceasefire is finally achieved the reader may in the end wonder, Well, why not?

 

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

 

Lyle Greenfield is the author of several books including Uniting the States of America—A Self-Care Plan for a Wounded Nation, The Soul Mate Expeditions, and 1000 Days in St. Barth. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Bowling Green University. 

Greenfield began his career in New York City as a copywriter and creative director for several large advertising agencies. In 1989, he founded Bang Music, a commercial music studio providing original music and audio services for all media. He is a founding member and former president of the Association of Music Producers (AMP) and co-creator of the AMP Awards for Music and Sound.

He resides in Amagansett, New York with his wife, Mary Jane.
