The Children's Museum of the East End (CMEE) invites guests to celebrate the season at its annual Summer Ladies Night on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, from 6 to 8 p.m. at a private residence in Bridgehampton. The beloved fundraising event brings together supporters from across the East End for an evening of cocktails, local wines, delicious hors d'oeuvres, shopping, and exciting opportunities to give back—all in support of CMEE's mission to enrich the lives of children and families through the power of play.
Guests will enjoy a lively summer atmosphere while browsing unique shopping experiences, bidding on an exciting silent auction, and entering to win exclusive raffle prizes. Proceeds from the evening directly benefit CMEE's educational programming, community outreach initiatives, scholarship opportunities, and inclusive play experiences that serve thousands of children and families throughout the East End each year.

East Hampton Historical Society will host the 10th Annual Summer Design Luncheon on Thursday, August 6th at 11 a.m. at the Maidstone Club (50 Old Beach Lane, East Hampton). The Luncheon entitled, The Fine Art of Collecting: The Thrill of the Find will be in conversation with Jacqueline Terrebonne of Galerie Magazine who will moderate an exclusive discussion with distinguished art and design insiders Eleanor Acquavella, Meredith Darrow and David Netto. 
“For the first time at our 10th Annual Design Luncheon, we are thrilled to present a panel featuring four engaging leaders in art and design. Since the Historical Society has amassed a collection of nearly 20,000 artifacts and artworks, hosting a conversation about the “Fine Art of Collecting” directly supports our mission and educational efforts. This much-anticipated summer afternoon at the historic Maidstone Club, where guests will dine with ocean views and draw inspiration from art and design experts, is always a highlight of the season,” shares East Hampton Historical Society Board President Debbie Druker.

ARTS CENTER AT DUCK CREEK FARM

The Arts Center at Duck Creek (<a href="https://www.duckcreekarts.org/" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">https://www.duckcreekarts.org/</a>) is pleased to present the Tim Watson Trio as a part of their 2026 Music Series to perform on Thursday, August 6 from 6 to 8 p.m. The trio features Tim Watson on Guitar, Dion Kerr on Drums and Craig Weinrib on Drums. 

Tim Watson is a 26-year-old Brooklyn-based guitarist, producer, and composer whose idiosyncratic approach to the instrument has taken him from the Village Vanguard and Lincoln Center to collaborative performances with Carnatic artists in Chennai and Ignacio Berroa's trio in Miami. A sought-after sideman, he is a member of groups led by Emmanuel Michael, Nazir Ebo, Brian Richburg Jr., Cisco Swank, and Dion Kerr, and leads his own trio alongside ongoing collaborative projects. In 2023 he premiered BLACKPILL 2023, a theatrical composition for octet inspired by fringe internet communities — a work that speaks to the fearless originality at the heart of everything he does.

The Arts Center at Duck Creek Music Series Presents Tim Watson Trio on August 6

J. Mackey Gallery & NJ Caine Architecture

Ellen Ball returns to J. Mackey Gallery after her sold-out show in 2024, with Sailing to Byzantium, a new solo exhibition in East Hampton. Ball's work explores the ways women construct and perform an identity through beauty, adornment, and self-expression. She is interested in how clothing, jewelry, and ritual become both personal armor and cultural language. Her contemporary figures draw on the visual traditions of Byzantine icons and Renaissance portraiture, existing somewhere between portrait, relic, and icon. The exhibition takes its inspiration from W.B. Yeats' celebrated poem Sailing to Byzantium, particularly its meditation on the desire to transcend mortality by becoming something crafted, gilded, and enduring.
Ellen Ball began her artistic career in New York City while living in downtown New York and later Brooklyn. She went on to be inspired by the city, its many industries, cultures, and energy itself. Ball's background as a graphic designer and illustrator for the beauty industry influences her work, evident in her choices of imagery and application.&nbsp;While pursuing her BFA from Denison University, she attended Studio Arts Centers International in Florence, Italy. After graduating, she went on to study graphic design at Parsons School of Design and painting at the New York Studio School with Graham Nickson.&nbsp;Throughout her artistic career, Ball has collaborated with influential artists and photographers. In 2024, her solo summer show "Beyond Your Glittering Eyes" at J. Mackey Gallery featured a collaboration with legendary rock photographer Mick Rock.&nbsp;Ball has presented several solo exhibitions in New York City, including with LOOC Art on the Lower East Side. Her work has also been featured in numerous group exhibitions throughout New York City and the East End of Long Island, including the 2026 Women in Art exhibition at the New York Stock Exchange.&nbsp;Her work can be found among international private collections and those of prominent figures.&nbsp;
J. Mackey Gallery represents established as well as emerging artists with an emphasis on the rich artistic history of Long Island. Highlighting artists from Brooklyn to Montauk, the gallery features celebrated Long Island artists including Phyllis Baker Hammond, Eliza Geddes, Arthur Pinajian, Ellen Ball, and Chris Kelly. Through a series of exhibits and lectures, the gallery explores the artistic process and cultural context of contemporary works examining 20th and 21st-century painting, drawing, mixed media, sculpture, and photography.&nbsp;
