Navy Beach has announced increasing its local philanthropic support this season with additional efforts to support the local community. In addition to the 6th annual East Hampton High School scholarship program, Navy Beach is partnering with three East End organizations to help raise awareness and funds through a Support Local dine + donate program from Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day. A $1 donation will be added to each dining check during these dates, with the restaurant matching the first $500 raised each month. Organizations that will be supported include:

The Hamptons Dance Project pairs premiere dancers from ballet and modern dance with master choreographers to present classical repertoire reimagined alongside innovative new works with a modern sensibility. Now in its 8th year, and again led by artistic director Jose Sebastian, this year's series returns to a private, breathtaking outdoor venue with address provided upon registration (or LTV Studios, in case of rain) on Aug. 7, 8, and 9 starting at 6 p.m.
Dancers for HDP Season VIII include ABT artists Sierra Armstrong, Aran Bell, Lauren Bonfiglio, Tristan Brosnan, Finnian Carmeci, Fangqi Li, Tyler Maloney, Sun Mi Park, Jose Sebastian, Hee Seo, Cory Stearns, Ingrid Thoms, and James Whiteside. Guest artists include Jared Alexander and Jenna Maslechko.
HDP VIII will feature ballets from returning choreographers Jorma Elo, Resident Choreographer, Boston Ballet; Justin Peck, Tony winner and Resident Choreographer, New York City Ballet; and two ballets from ABT Principal Dancer James Whiteside. New choreographers include ABT dancer Duncan Lyle and renowned American choreographer Lar Lubovitch. Guest tap artist Jared Alexander is returning for his third season. Singer and musician Rozzi will perform her song “Joshua Tree” to choreography by James Whiteside, and composer and pianist David Evans returns to accompany the ballet by Lar Lubovitch.

We warmly welcome Dr. Suzan Johnson Cook to our Knowledge Friday series! Widely known as Ambassador Sujay, the visionary trailblazer and transformational leader has broken barriers across government, ministry, academia, and media. Her distinguished public service and international leadership have earned her recognition as one of the world’s leading voices in faith diplomacy, peace building, and cross-cultural engagement. Come celebrate her story with us and then stick around for the Q&amp;A at the end of the program. 
Appointed by President Barack Obama and nominated by Hillary Clinton, she became the first woman and the first African American to serve as U.S Ambassador for International Religious Freedom, advising the President and Secretary of State on global religious freedom and policy issues across nearly 200 nations. She remains the only Black woman from New York State to hold the title of U.S. Ambassador. 
Ambassador Sujay was also the first African American woman elected senior pastor in 200-year history of the American Baptist Churches USA. She also served for 21 years as the first female chaplain of the NYPD, ministering on the front lines during the September 11th attacks, helping New York and our nation through traumatic times, and earning recognition as “America’s Chaplain.” 
She is also a local legend. The best-selling author hosts a local television program on LTV called “Live with Sujay” and focuses on Black women leaders and East End Headliners.

On Saturday, August 8, 2026, the East Hampton Library will present its 22nd Annual Authors Night fundraiser. One of the most popular and celebrity-studded events of the Hamptons’ summer calendar, Authors Night features 100 authors across all genres. The “Premier Literary Event of the Hamptons” has grown over its history to become one of the most successful celebrations of books and authors in America, and one of the largest library-author events of its kind in the country.

PARTICIPATING AUTHORS INCLUDE: Amy DuBois Barnett, Robert A. Caro, Amy Chozick, Florence Fabricant, Tom Freston, Eddie S. Glaude Jr., Paul Goldberger, Bianna Golodryga, Xochitl Gonzalez, Michael Gross, Alice Harris, Madeleine Henry, Steve Israel, Karine Jean-Pierre, Aphrodite Jones, Tom Junod, Carol Leifer, Don Lemon, Andrew Lownie, Susan Lucci, Jenn Lueke, Jay McInerney, David Netto, Chris Pavone, Adam Ross, Sabrina Rudin, Allison Winn Scotch, John Searles, Alyssa Sheinmel, Beth Stern, Michael Symon, Heather Ann Thompson, Neil deGrasse Tyson—and many more.
The evening begins at 5 pm with the Authors Cocktail Party reception under a grand tent, where guests enjoy delicious hors d’oeuvres and wine, meet and mingle with the authors, buy their books, and have them personally inscribed. At 8 pm, guests with higher level tickets continue the evening at one of the Author Dinner Parties, held at private area homes in honor of one or more of the guest authors.

Salt marshes do more for our coastline than most of us realize — filtering water, buffering storms, and giving fish, birds, and shellfish a place to start their lives.
Join ReWild Long Island on Friday, August 14 for a meditative walk through Northwest Harbor County Park's coastal habitats. The walk begins with a short guided meditation to settle in and tune your senses to the coastline, then continues along the sand trail through a variety of coastal habitats.
Whether you're a longtime beachgoer, a budding naturalist, or just curious about the world beneath your feet, you'll come away with a deeper connection to the shoreline.
Your guide is Ella Gatfield, an ecologist and NYU Gallatin M.A. Dean's Scholar who studies coastal habitats with Cornell Cooperative Extension's Marine Program and researches fish eDNA in the Hudson River.
