East Hampton Deer-Spaying Program Receives Donation

East Hampton Village Preservation Society contributed $100,000 to the program.

The East Hampton Village Preservation Society donated $100,000 to the village’s deer-spaying program on Thursday at the board’s monthly meeting, according to a 27east.com report. The donation will be a part of the board’s $30,000 line item for the deer management program which will be executed by White Buffalo Inc, a deer management company based in upstate New York.

The company teams up with villages to gather and spay the does before releasing them back out into the wild with hopes to slow down reproduction.

“We wanted to get the money to you as soon as we thought practicable,” the preservation society’s executive director Kathy Cunningham told board members, 27east.com reported.
