Heartbroken Hamptons Family Loses Young Woman To Overdose
"She was kind, she was funny, she had a contagious laugh . . . On May 31, Claire unfortunately lost her battle."

EAST HAMPTON, NY — Another beautiful young life has been cut short by a deadly overdose in the Hamptons.
A GoFundMe page, "For Claire Pollikoff," was originally created by her sister Cat to help with medical and transportation costs after the teen's overdose.
But, sadly, an update on the page spoke of heartbreak and unthinkable loss.

"Claire Pollikoff was such a giving person. She was kind, she was funny, she had such a contagious laugh. She was an awesome sister and an even better daughter. On May 31, Claire unfortunately lost her battle."
The GoFundMe will now be divided between hospital bills and her funeral service.

Claire Pollikoff was a loving sister and daughter, the daughter of Anthony Pollikoff and Bernadette O’Brien, and a big sister to Cat Pollikoff, her family said.
"She would give anyone the shirt off her back. She is a tough cookie with a feisty personality. Most importantly she’s a fighter," the page said, before she lost her battle.
"At the young age of 19, Claire was recently a victim of an accidental overdose. She is another one of the skyrocketing opioid crisis victims on the East Coast," the page said.
During her time in ICU, where she was in critical condition and unconscious, Claire went into cardiac arrest; she also had collapsed lungs and did not respond to stimuli. Her blood oxygen level was lower than normal, and she was breathing on a ventilator before she passed away, leaving broken hearts on the East End.
Drew Scott, whose beloved granddaughter Hallie was found lifeless on an East Hampton road after an overdose last year, was devastated to hear of another young girl lost: "It just breaks our hearts that this epidemic has claimed another beautiful child and brought grief and tears to all who loved her. I pray that all who knew and loved Claire would join our fight to stamp out addiction and extend a helping hand to those in recovery.”
