Jeffrey Potter: Snapshots of a Life
Please join us at the Pollock-Krasner House on Sunday, July 7 from 5:00-7:00 p.m., when we will raise our glasses to celebrate the life and legacy of Jeffrey Potter. Admission is free, and no reservations are required. The author of To a Violent Grave: An Oral Biography of Jackson Pollock (Putnam, 1985), Jeffrey was instrumental in the development of the Pollock-Krasner House and Study Center. His archives, including more than 160 audiotaped interviews with Pollock's family, friends, neighbors and colleagues, are among the most significant holdings in the Study Center's research collections.
Sunday's program will feature music by Jeffrey's son Job, who narrates a 17-minute film created especially for this occasion by OVIDeo's Max Scott using photographs from the Potter family album and footage from LTV and the BBC, among other sources. We are grateful to Jeffrey's children Job, Gayle, Manon and Horatio, his grandson Ben, his widow Priscilla Bowden, and LTV archivist Genie Chipps Henderson for their contributions to this video tribute.
