Local Doctor Joins Southampton Hospital Board Of Directors

Ralph M. Gibson, MD, MBA , who has been on the hospital's medical staff since 2002 has joined Southampton Hospital's Board of Directors.

Southampton Hospital announced Monday that Ralph M. Gibson, MD, MBA has joined Southampton Hospital’s Board of Directors.

Gibson, who has been on the hospital’s medical staff since 2002, is in private practice in Internal Medicine in East Hampton. Prior to moving to the East End, he was Medical Director of Montefiore Medical Center’s Contract Management Organization in New York, and before that, Medical Director of the Suffolk County Department of Health, managing four primary care health centers on Eastern Long Island.

A graduate of Cornell University Medical College and Board certified in Internal Medicine, Gibson has also has been a clinical instructor in medicine and clinical anatomy at New York University School of Medicine and Pace University – Lenox Hill Hospital, both in New York.

Prior to his decision to train and enter the medical profession, he worked in finance at Merrill Lynch Capital Markets and at WR Lazard & Company in New York where he was founding partner and manager of investment banking.

Since moving to the East End, he has been involved as Medical Director in a number of East Hampton Town and Village service organizations.
