Man Had Stolen Credit Card, Controlled Substance: Cops

He was caught with 16 cylindrical cartridges containing liquid marijuana, police say.

EAST HAMPTON, NY — A Valley Stream man was arrested after he was caught with liquid marijuana and a stolen credit card, police said.

According to East Hampton Town Police, Jorge L. Marin, 29, was arrested on Saturday at 1:05 a.m. on Montauk Highway near Jericho Road in East Hampton.

He was found in possession of 16 cylindrical cartridges containing a brown liquid substance which field tested positive for the presence of marijuana and weighed more than one-fourth of an ounce, police said. The cartridges were located in the rear pouch of the passenger seat of his 2012 Toyota Camry, police said.

Marin was charged with fifth degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a felony, police said.

Marin also had, in his possession, a KeyBank MasterCard credit that he did not have authority or permission to have; he was charged with fourth degree criminal possession of stolen property, possession of a credit card, a felony, police said.

Marin also had three large clear plastic bags containing a green, leafy substance; the bags were found in the trunk of his car, police said. The green, leafy substance tested positive for the presence of marijuana and had an aggregate weight of more than two ounces, police said. He was charged with fourth degree criminal possession of a marijuana, aggregate weight of more than two ounces, a misdemeanor, police said,

In addition, Marin was found with a black electronic scale located under the three ziploc bags containing a green, leafy substance, concealed under the lining of the trunk of his Camry, police said. He was charged with second degree criminal use of drug paraphernalia, scales, a misdemeanor, police said.

He was remanded into the custody of the Suffolk County Sheriff in lieu of $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 bond, police said.
