The Jewish Center of the Hamptons presents:
Follows the career of German actor and holocaust victim Kurt Gerron; a personality that brings to mind both Jackie Gleason and Mel Brooks. While a concentration camp prisoner, Gerron is tasked with the job of directing a propaganda film for the Nazis. His participation leads to a moral question: was he aiding the enemy, or trying to maintain a sense of dignity and identity? The film includes cameos by Marlene Dietrich and Peter Lorre. It was nominated for an Academy Award in 2003, and received an award from the Directors Guild of America. Running time 96 minutes. All Monday Night Movies at JCOH will be introduced by Alec Hirschfeld. Couvert: $5.00The views expressed in this post are the author's own. Want to post on Patch?
